Courtesy of ITTF Triple European champion Timo Boll overcame Sweden's Jörgen Persson in the final with 3-2 after being 0-2 down in games. Elke Schall on her part beat the Belarusian defensive player Viktoria Pavlovich as well in five games. |
Important Feedback after a Long Period of Training
“After the training you never really know where you are”, Timo Boll explained. “Competitions give you a totally different feedback about your shape.”
Elke Schall saw the tournament also as a test for the mental power. “After these intensive six weeks, it was important to resist the fatigue. And I have even played some beautiful rallies”, the thirty-five year old said. “Until the Olympic Games start I will recover the necessary freshness.”
